Depending on country sold there are 2 types of neoprene soft socks, one with prominent rubber reinforcement, Grip Sole, the other with a lighter PU print protection. A softer boot configuration allows for greater room to fit various shoe sizes without having to do a boot change or change the size of the suit.
You can also wear an additional neoprene boot for added protection.
